Penniless on a Monday

We went to High Street this afternoon as planned. Despite the rain and bribing a taxi (we said we’d pay an extra fee) — after being rejected by drivers twice to bring us to Taguig — we eventually got to Fully Booked. I found the Ally McBeal OST for my mom and Love Begins in Winter by Simon Van Booy, which both rendered me penniless this week. My money wasn’t my own to begin with so it just meant that my allowance was all drained by latte, a bagel, dinner, and taxi fares.

(Now that I think about it, how am I going to stay at Katipunan late at night this week!? With a hundred bucks left! I’M GOING TO STARVE, SHIT.)

(Note on my book purchase: I wanted to buy The Secret Lives of People in Love because Sasha blogged about it, but it wasn’t on the shelf. But the other book was, so I ended up buying it instead. Hopefully it will not disappoint.)

Going off-topic for a few seconds, I’d just like to say how much I missed book-shopping. I seldom read books nowadays and I still haven’t finished The Architecture of Happiness. Jopy kept on pointing out books he wanted to buy as well and we were just both “eeeeehhhhh, I don’t have enough money” while browsing. Sad.

After which we walked to Burgos Circle to meet with Mikko and Maria.

I was seriously amazed there were lights for the pedestrian crossing (and the push-button before you cross!) because at this part of Taguig, you didn’t have to race with cars just to cross the street. It’s like…it wasn’t the Philippines, haha.

We met at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf first before having a Persian/Indian dinner. Reason why I have no money anymore. I actually wouldn’t have ordered dinner anymore because I was already full from the bagel and iced latte, but I felt like I should order or eat something else.

Fries and chicken-something, kebab style. This was my dinner because the iced mocha latte and bagel still filled 90% of my stomach.

It took Mikko and Maria a longer time to order though. :))

Mikko and Maria are so cute together. <3 I really did miss talking with them and tonight was such a lovely evening.

Despite the fun I had today, I was able to do some work for thesis. It’s less than what I’ve planned, ideally, but better than nothing. I’m kinda obsessed with working on my thesis right now that even during one class I was trying to come up with an outline for Phase One. Which is bad, obviously, but it shows my thesis-enthusiasm? Hahahaha.

I’m just not sure where I’ll be spending late evenings at Katipunan this week because I don’t have money to stay at SBC for a while. :(
